Senior Management Team
Managing Director - Daniel Tanui
Daniel Tanui is the Managing Director and CEO of Mitchell Cotts, a position he has held since 1995. He has extensive experience in finance and freight forwarding. Before joining Mitchell Cotts he was the Divisional Manager of Siginon Freight (K) Limited. He oversees all the operations and business growth of Mitchell Cotts within the East Africa region. He has been very instrumental in the company's growth and extension programme.
Mr. Tanui sits in various Boards: Africa Tea Trade Limited, Productivity Centre of Kenya, Federation of Kenya Employers, and Directorate of Industrial Training. He has served as Committee member in ICPAK, Mombasa and Kenya Institute of Management. He is Chairman of Nyali Primary School. Mr. Tanui is a Founder member of Freight Station Association and served as the founding Chairman.
Mr. Tanui is a Certified Public Accountant C.P.A (K) and holds a Masters of Business Administration (M.B.A) Degree.
Finance Manager - Mark Mbua
Mark Mbua is the Finance Manager at Mitchell Cotts. He joined Mitchell Cotts in 1995 as an Accountant and has risen through the ranks to the current position of FM.Mr. Mbua's prudence in financial management has proved instrumental in the company's exponential growth. He has over 15 years' experience in the freight industry.
Mr. Mbua is a Certified Public Accountant C.P.A. (K).
Operations Manager - Clement Mwambingu
Clement Mwambingu joined Mitchell Cotts as Operations Manager in 2005 from Siginon Freight (K) Limited.
Mr. Mwambingu is responsible for Clearing & Forwarding, Shipping and Transport. He has over 25years ' experience in the logistics industry.
Mr. Mwambingu holds a Diploma in C&F and Warehousing from Bandari College - Mombasa
Warehouse Manager - Jeremiah Kiilu
Jeremiah Kiilu was appointed to his current position of Warehouse Manager in 2008. Prior to this he served as a Supervisor in the Warehouse department.
Mr. Kiilu is in charge of Warehouses and the Container Freight Station (CFS). He has over 15 years' experience in the freight forwarding industry.
Mr. Kiilu holds a Bachelor of Arts (Human Resource) Degree from Kenyatta University and a Diploma in C&F and Warehousing from Bandari College, Mombasa.
Airfreight Manager - Mugambi Muthamia
Mugambi Muthamia joined Mitchell Cotts as Airfreight Manager in 1992.
He is in charge of Airfreight Department at JKIA. Mr. Muthamia has over 18 years experience in freight industry.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Economics) Degree.
Sales and Marketing Manager - Angela Kuria
Angela Kuria joined Mitchell Cotts as Sales and Marketing Manager in November 2006 from Siginon Freight (K) Limited.
Mrs. Kuria is responsible for Customer Management, Sales and Marketing. She has over 10 years' experience in the marketing industry.
Mrs. Kuria holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing) Degree and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA).
General Manager - Upstream Limited – Uganda - Edwin Gitonga
Edwin Gitonga is the General Manager - Uganda. He joined Mitchell Cotts in December 1999 from Inchcape Shipping Services where he was the Shipping Manager. He is in-charge of business development in Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, DRC and Southern Sudan and oversees operations at Malaba and Kampala offices. Edwin has over 16 years' experience in shipping operations.
Edwin holds a Bachelor of Arts (Economics) Degree and a Diploma in Ship Broking from the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers from the United Kingdom.
