MITCHELL COTTS FREIGHT ISO 9001: 2008 RECERTIFICATION
Mitchell Cotts Freight has once again undergone a successful recertification process upon the expiry of the 3 years allowed ISO Certification use. The recertification was a result of a rigorous external audit carried out by SGS, a respected certification body.
The quest for excellence in service delivery tempered with professionalism formed the driving force under which the company sought for an ISO certification over 4 years ago. Mitchell Cotts Freight got its first ISO certification namely ISO 9001: 2000 in the month of December 2006. This was a culmination of extensive and intense preparation for the acclaimed International ISO Certificate, referred to as ISO 9001: 2000 International Standards at the time.
The management of the company acknowledged that business growth and continued success depended hugely on well grounded, defined and accepted systems comparable to, and recognised internationally. ISO Certification demands that a company's working system must be clearly documented in terms of processes and procedures. These help to not only create harmony but to also give defined paths of actions that can be easily referred to when fulfilling the organisations duties and responsibility.
Needles to say, for Mitchell Cotts Freight to achieve this, the company went through thorough scrutiny of all spheres of business service and operations by the certification body before attaining the ISO 9001: 2000 International Standards. The defining moment, the year 2006, when Mitchell Cotts Freight was declared an ISO Certified organisation, remains an indelible mark in the company's march towards excellence in service delivery.
One thing that has stood out in the years after the first certification is the demand for continual improvement in service delivery. ISO Certification is not an idle boast but an all out approach to continual improvement which must be seen to be working and which undergoes frequent audits by the certification body.
